Opinion

What can I say; I'm an opinionated guy, and occasionally I like to write about the opinions I form. I'm a bit of a windbag when given tools to write with.

If you got here by googling my name, consider the impact of first impressions and how this might possibly not be the best way to get one. It's up to you to not be a judgmental douche, you came here by your own free will. And jesus, if you're going to insist on being one, at least examine the fucking dates of the writings. The internet may be forever, but my opinions aren't.

If you want to see my attempt at serious objective writing, see my Writings section.

Schema management: keep your framework out of this [ 10/07/2008 23:04:53 PDT ]
Fixtures (database fixtures, specifically) and migrations (database versioning) never cease to amaze me as a powerful tool to empower testing and enhance the quality of any application. After all, why do you treat your source code as some sacred, version controlled scion, but the database gets the rough equivalent of cp $i $i.old version control. Really folks, how many applications do you know of where the schema and the manipulations to the database aren't as important, if not more important, than the code used against them?
